CET Syllabus

The agency will now conduct all examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, all Railway Recruitment Boards and the Institute of Banking Service Personnel (IBPS) for non-technical posts. Almost all agencies will join it in the future.

The NRA will also administer Common Eligibility Test (CET) at three levels depending on the level of study. Separate examinations will be held for graduate, higher secondary (12th) and matric (10th) pass candidates for non-technical posts. But the curriculum will remain the same. There will no longer be a separate syllabus for each exam.

CET Exam Pattern

The Common Eligibility Test (CET) is currently the only Tier-1 exam. That is for screening / shortlisting only. Any candidate appearing in the CET will be able to apply to all the agencies for the next higher level examination as per the vacancy. Based on the CET score, these agencies will conduct specialized examinations for Tier-2 and Tier-3 separately. However, some government departments have indicated to cancel the second phase examination for recruitment and to appoint candidates only on the basis of CET score after physical and medical examination.

The score will be valid for 3 years from the date the result is declared. Definitely the candidate will be able to take the exam repeatedly to increase the score. The maximum age limit in CET will be as per the existing rules. Candidates in SC, ST, OBC and other categories will be allowed age limit only as per the current policy.
